Baggage Information

When you book tickets through British Airways Reservations, the regular fare of British Airlines includes one carry-on baggage and a personal item such as a handbag or laptop free of charge. 


Carry-on Baggage Restrictions

  • Maximus Dimensions for standard size bags: 22″ x 18″ x 10″ including pockets, handle and wheels
  • Maximum Dimensions for Personal item: 18″ x 14″ x 8″ 
  • Note- These items should be small in size and must fit properly in under-seat storage or overhead bin. 


Checked Baggage Restrictions

For all flights except from/to Kenya, Brazil, Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone and connecting routes between India and Canada/USA/ Bermuda:

  • Euro Traveler, World Traveler, UK Domestic (Economy): 1x 23kg (51 lb.)
  • Euro Traveler, World Traveler, UK Domestic (full-fare Economy): 2x 23kg (51 lb.)
  • World Traveler Plus: 2x 23kg (51 lb.)
  • Club Europe: 2x 32kg (70 lb.)
  • First Club World: 3x 32kg (70 lb.)
  • Maximum Dimensions for all classes: 90cm x 75cm x 43cm, including pockets, handle, and wheels.


Overweight and Oversize bags

  • Bags weighing 51-70lbs (23-32kgs) will consider as overweight bags, and an extra charge will suppress.
  • Bags larger than 90cm x 75cm x 43cm (35.5″ x 29.5″ x 16″) will consider as oversize bags and extra charge will suppress
  • Note- bags heavier than 70 lbs/32 kg and lager than 75in x 29.5in x 25.5in (190cm x 75cm x 65cm) will not be accepted by the airline.


Check-in Information

After booking from British Airways Reservations, passengers can use the following option to complete the British Airway’s Check-in procedure: 


Online Check-in

  • Flights from/to the USA: Check-in service will be available from 24 hours till 1 hour before the departure of the flight.
  • All other flights: Check-in service will be available from 23 hours till 2 hours before the departure of the flight


At Airport

Passengers can use the airline check-in desk or self-serve kiosks to complete the procedures. The time of check-in will vary depending on the airport and destination.

British Airways Cabin Classes

The airline offers four cabin classes in its flights:


Economy Class

The economy class of British Airways varies depending on the weather and duration of the flight.

Euro Traveler

This economy class option is available for flights within the UK and Europe. It offers a comfortable cabin with adjustable headrests, leather seats, LED mood lighting, and complimentary newspapers.

Further, Euro Traveler has three different fare structures:

  • Basic- this fare comes with carry-on baggage and an allocated seat. Passengers can choose their preferred seats or add checked luggage for the charge.
  • Plus- Passengers can choose their seats 48 hours before departure for free; same day of departure flight changes for free, and increased checked baggage allowance.
  • Plus Flex- This fare option comes with more flexibility, passengers can choose their seats up to an hour before the departure of the flight.

World Traveller

This option is available for international and long-haul flights. This class offers a spacious and comfy cabin with reclinable leather seats, complimentary drinks, and meals, a personal entertainment system.

It has two fare options:

  • Basic- This fare includes a pre-allocated seat and carry-on bag.
  • Standard — this fare includes, seat selection checked baggage and priority boarding.


Premium Economy

The premium economy option of this airline is known as World Traveller Plus and only available on long haul and medium-haul flights.

Facilities- Passengers get a complimentary cushion, quilt, wide variety of foods and drinks menu, amenity kit, and more.

Seats- Each seat of this class comes with extra reclination and space along with personal entertainment screen, power, and USB socket.


Business Class

The facilities offer in this class depends on the route and duration of the flight. Further, Business Class of British Airways is divided into two parts

  • Club World – For a long-haul flight
  • Club Europe- For Flights within Europe

Facilities

  • Club World- Passengers will get three-course meals, exotic wines, and amenity kits. Each seat comes with a personal 10.4 flat screen.
  • Club Europe- Passengers will get the same facilities as Club World passengers get.

Seats- Each seat comes with the feature of convert in a 183cm (72″) fully flatbed.


First Class

First Class is the most luxurious of the British Airways travel classes. This class option is available on long-haul flights only.

Facilities- Each passenger will get their own personal suite, world-class dining menu, VIP treatment, amenity kit full of luxurious brands, sleep kit, and direct access to the luxurious airport lounge.

Seats- Each seat gives 78″ of pitch, 22″ of width, and has a power supply to allow passengers to charge their personal electronic devices.
